Investigating the connection between Pressure and Temperature in a gas

Important Stuff

Temperature is always meausred in kelvins (K). Add 273 to the
thermometer reading to convert the measurement
to Kelvins

Finding the pressure of the gas involves measuring the difference in the height of mecury in the two arms of the manometer,

You could replace the manometer with a pressure gauge and measure the pressure directly by reading the screen

How to do the investigation

1) Set up the apparatus as shown

2) Measure and record the pressue of the gas
in the glass bulb

3) Measure and record the temperature

4) Increase the temperature of the gas by using
the heater

5) Repeat the measurement of the pressure
and temperature

6) Plot a graph of Pressure against Temperature

Draw a diagram of the experiment
Explain what is done
Sketch the graph you expect to see ( it should be a straight line passing through the origin)
